"Great White, Wicked Habit and Wishbone
at the H.O.B. - Anaheim"
By Revn Kevin
Hey Gang, It's over the hill and far away to visit the H.O.B. in Anaheim. Huddie of the band "Wicked Habit" invited me out and that was just the excuse needed to go check out the new Disney projects that were just completed (California Adventure and a shopping area resembling a wider Universal City Walk). Its all new, clean and very cool, so next time you're at the Magic Kingdom come check it out. The House of Blues was sold out andthen some so I was extra thankful to have a ticket.
Wishbone - Opening the show with some great Southern style rock was Wishbone. Some excellent musical skills here for sure. The only song that I caught the name of was "Gingerbread Man", a heavy rocker for sure. I wasn't able to catch anyone to get some info, which was a shame because I wanted to give the female back up singer extra praise for her performance. If I see their name on a marquee I'll be sure the check them out again.
Wicked Habit - Tommy Wright: Vocals, Brian Roberts: Guitars, Huddie Behrens: Bass and Vocals, Steve Lentini: Drums and Rick Lentini: DJ Wicka. Hailing out of O.C., "Wicked Habit" was picked to open by Great White out of a couple hundred demos and they came out smoking. "Steal on Me" and "Sick Jacket" were a couple of hard core rockers and although the crowd didn't strike me as a hard core crowd they certainly got into it. The crowd really went nuts when Tommy the vocalist pulled off a great "Ozzy" on a Sabbath cover (should have wrote down the name) and kept it up till the last tune "I Bleed". If you feel the need to acquire a Wicked Habit of your own then call (626) 732-2284 or visit

Great White - Jack Russell: vocals, Mark Kendall: guitar, Michael Lardie: keyboards, rhythm guitar, Sean Mc Nabb: bass, Derrick Pontier: drums. By the time Great White hit the stage the crowd was so thick that you could walk on top of their heads. That must have been a great feel for original guitarist Mark Kendall as this was his return show and a great show it was. After all these years Jack Russell's voice is still strong as ever, never wavering on hit after hit. Tonight's set included "Rock Me", "Save Your Love", "Once Bitten Twice Shy", and too many others for me to remember. You think this kind of music (big hair rock) has died, well think again as the crowd never left and demanded a couple of encores before finally letting the band go home. For more info on Great White go check out their web site at
www.mistabone.com. I've been there and it's very cool.Great Show, Great Venue and if the damn car makes it home it was a Great "Great White" Show. If you have a great upcoming show then got to www.revnkevin.com and tell me about it. Later!
