Exodus and Megadeth
at the Palladium
By Revn Kevin
Fully recovered from career threatening nerve damage and armed with a brand new album, Megadeth Dave Mustaine has grabbed up some able bodied musicians and hit the road on his first tour in 3 years. Opening act tonight was Exodus who can still churn up the metal. The band has a new release out called "Tempo of the Damned" which is available on Nuclear Blast records. I visited the record labels website where I found out the band had recently fired singer Steve Souza and have enlisted the growling Steve Esquivel of Skinlab for the shows supporting Megadeth.
Speaking of Megadeth, they hit the stage with all the force of a locomotive. The pent-up frustrations of not performing live for so long were released on the audience with a vengeance. Dave was in great form and made the rest of the guy's play just that much harder. His touring band this time around includes Glen Drover/lead guitar, James McDonough/bass, and it was supposed to be Nick Menza on drums but not at tonight's show. The new album "The System has Failed" entered the charts at #18 and deservedly so as it kicks some serious ass. The CD marks a return the true thrash metal riffs and issue charged lyrics that made Megadeth famous. I'll be doing a full review soon. If you can't wait that long go visit the band at www.megadeth.com and scoop a copy yourself.
